Villa Lavanda Sarajevo is a compact hospitality garden and pool project designed for short-term rentals. Commissioned by Villa Lavanda, the goal was to transform the outdoor space into a calm, inviting environment for guests on Airbnb and Booking.com. Through expert landscape design, the team reorganised the existing garden. Additionally, we designed a new pool that feels both natural and timeless.
We started the project in 2019 and completed it within a short time period. Since the site sits on a slope, the terrain shaped the approach. Instead of rigid lines, the design uses organic curves to blend seamlessly into the landscape. Throughout the process, we applied landscape principles and explored multiple design studies. In the end, we finalised a soft, rounded layout that fits naturally within the greenery.
Two linked pools offer variety in depth and use. A sun terrace, shaded lounge zones, native plants, and stone pathways complete the experience. Moreover, gravel, local stone, and timber were selected for their long-term durability and visual warmth. Landscape design guided the layout of paths and surfaces, ensuring smooth movement and quiet moments of rest.
Layered planting and smart screen placement provided privacy throughout the garden. Furthermore, the layout supports proper drainage and low maintenance — essential qualities for a frequently used rental. Guests can use the space for family gatherings, couples’ stays, or group events, all thanks to thoughtful landscape planning.
Though modest in scale, the design shows how much a clear goal and good process can achieve. The design team shaped every element to support both guest comfort and long-term function. As a result, the outcome is a clean, characterful outdoor space. It enhances the property and adds lasting value to the rental.
Ultimately, Villa Lavanda Sarajevo proves that even a small commercial garden can combine beauty with smart planning. The landscape design outcome is more than a space — it’s a gentle, memorable experience that connects visitors to nature and place.
