THA Academy

Learn architecture the way it’s practised. At THA Academy, we share the tools, methods, and thinking that shape our daily work — from BIM and Revit workflows to design process and project coordination. Each course is built from real architectural experience, taught by practising Ziviltechniker:innen / Architects in Vienna.

BIM Academy by THA

THA BIM Academy is the educational platform of Tomić Han Architecture (THA ZT e.U.), a Vienna-based architectural office working with BIM-driven design and planning on real projects.

The Academy was created to share how BIM and Revit are actually used in architectural practice — not as abstract software tutorials, but as tools for thinking, designing, coordinating, and delivering architecture.

At THA BIM Academy, you learn:

  • how to structure a Revit project cleanly

  • how to model with logic, not workarounds

  • how to build scalable families and systems

  • how to produce clear plans, sections, and 3D views

  • how BIM supports architectural decision-making from early design to execution

All courses are taught by practising architects, based on workflows that are used daily in the THA office in Vienna.

The focus is not on shortcuts or isolated tools, but on clarity, structure, and long-term usability — so your models stay readable, adaptable, and professional as projects grow.

THA BIM Academy is aimed at:

  • architects and architectural offices

  • students transitioning into professional practice

  • designers who want to understand BIM beyond “button-clicking”

In short:
THA BIM Academy teaches BIM the way architects actually work.

A Revit Crash Course poster from THA Academy showing architect Robert Tomić presenting the concept of BIM and Revit learning in Vienna. The visual highlights key course details such as small groups of up to five participants, ten hours of focused instruction across two intensive days, and a hands-on approach grounded in real architectural workflows. Robert Tomić holds BIM and Revit symbols, illustrating the connection between architectural practice and digital modelling education at THA, an architecture office in Vienna known for precision, clarity, minimalism, and BIM-driven planning. The image communicates that the THA Academy Crash Course is designed for architects and students seeking practical Revit skills, Revit Family modelling knowledge, and structured BIM workflows. The description supports searches including Revit Kurs Wien, BIM Training Vienna, architects Vienna, architecture office Vienna, Revit lernen Österreich, THA Academy, and architectural digital design education in Vienna.

Revit Christmas Series

The Revit Christmas Tree Series is THA Academy’s 12-day introduction to Revit Family modelling.
Each present on the tree represents one essential Revit tool, explained through clear visuals and simple architectural logic. Day 1 covers Extrusion — the foundation of most Revit geometry — and Day 2 introduces Revolve, used for creating clean curved forms.

The Revit Christmas Tree Series is a detailed twelve-day educational project created by architect Robert Tomić of Tomić Han Architecture — THA — together with THA Academy in Vienna. Each visual “present” on the stylised Christmas tree corresponds to one of the essential tools used in Revit Family modelling. The purpose of the series is to make Revit more understandable for architects, students, and BIM learners by presenting each modelling operation as a small, digestible step grounded in real architectural workflows. THA’s approach reflects its architectural philosophy of clarity, precision, minimalism, and BIM-driven design. architectural education in Vienna.
Day 1 introduces the Extrusion tool, the basis for forming solid architectural elements from sketched profiles. Day 2 presents the Revolve tool, demonstrating how rotational geometry enables furniture components, façade details, lighting elements, columns and many architectural forms. The entire series explains the internal logic of Revit Families and shows how architectural geometry can be constructed with disciplined and thoughtful BIM methods. This educational content supports key search topics including architects in Vienna, architecture office Vienna, Architektur Planung Wien, BIM training Austria, Revit tutorials Vienna, THA Academy BIM education, parametric modelling Austria, and professional digital design workflows developed by Robert Tomić and the THA team. The series strengthens THA’s presence as a leading contemporary architecture office with deep expertise in BIM, computational modelling, and architectural education in Vienna. architectural education in Vienna.
